Kerrville’s River Trail winds along the banks of the Guadalupe River for approximately 4 miles.  Despite being planned by the city for approximately 4 decades, construction on the first phase of the trail didn’t begin until 2011.  Since then, 4 phases of the trail have been completed, with the potential for additional phases at a later time.  The River Trail currently allows visitors to travel from Kerrville Schreiner Park to past the Riverside Nature Center.  The 10 ft wide trail is a popular, day time public use walking and biking trail, and is an integral part of the city’s parks system.  The trail winds through the recently updated Louise Hays Park and adjacent Lehmann Monroe Park, the city’s centrally located day use parks that include a splash pad/ interactive fountain water feature, a dog park, a play-scape, and more.

The River Trail has quickly become one of the most popular recreation areas in the city.  Several trailheads are located along the route, and can be found at the Riverside Nature Center, Louise Hays Park, Lehmann Monroe park, G Street near the bridge, and Kerrville Schreiner Park.  See the city of Kerrville website for more information.
